Objectives
‘To enable its target group to make more effective and efficient development efforts’
Using its proven Human and Institutional Development (HID) approach as a vehicle, CHIP adds value to donor agencies, the civil society, the public and the corporate sector, through its professional services.
CHIP works closely with organizations to select and apply models, interpret results and to assist in planning and carrying out a course of action designed to increase organizational performance.
CHIP’s focus on HID covers capacity building at the individual, organizational, and institutional level, with a long-term Vision of building “An Aware and Organised Society Capable of Realising its Own Development”
Hence, CHIP’s initiatives are:
• Designed with long-term perspective;
• Combined with follow-ups, and are not one-off activities,
• Are driven by a comprehensive and holistic assessment of what is required to build sustainable indigenous agents of change.
Thus, the focus is not simply on technical capabilities, but also cultivating ethical values and professionalizm

WHY HID
Success and failure is determined by how well people are prepared to achieve goals and how well their organizations are able to support them.
HID interventions have had a proven role in shaping current development perspectives and have helped increase the ability of local organizations to plan, implement and document projects with greater professionalizm.
Continuity in planning and project operations provides assurance that capital and human effort bear optimum return.
CHIP has more than a decade long history of supporting grassroots organization development. It has a methodology for engaging local-level social entrepreneurs and training them in human, organizational and institutional development.
