Credibility and Linkages
CHIP enjoys an enviable reputation for its credible services amongst civil society organizations, international NGOs, donors and bilateral/multilateral projects which is evident from the long-term partnerships with NGOs/Donor agencies. The donor organizations always opt to continue their working relationship with CHIP over a prolonged period of time. Sightsavers International, D&LBC and Muslim Care are such examples who after working with CHIP for over three years have explicitly demonstrated their commitment to continue this enduring partnership.
Governance
CHIP, a company established under section 42 of the companies’ ordinance 1984 follows strict accountability measures in keeping with the regulatory requirements of the Act. CHIP learned its initial lessons in good governance while working with its parent/founder organization (SDC), setting up multi-tiered accountability and monitoring requirements. It boasts a balanced and diversified board representing stakeholders, each of whom have a pool of talents and experience contributing to its core tasks.
Internal Controls
CHIP maintains its accounts according to Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and gives full disclosure of its accounts as set out in the fifth schedule of Companies Ordinance 1984. CHIP’s finance department is headed by a qualified accountant (ACMA) with the support of three professionals holding MBA degrees. The overall financial direction is provided by two senior qualified accountants (FCMAs), (both of whom are actively involved – one as a member of the board and the other as the Company Secretary).is this necessary?
Sound Human Resource
CHIP team members share a diverse range of qualification and experience from both national and international organizations. The women and men are equal in number. They are an experienced team that shares a common organizational philosophy. We maintain a roster of experts that can be taken on board with the assurance of quality
Knowledge Management
CHIP is proud of its well documented set of manuals, best practices and case studies, tried and tested training methodology and manuals; credibility of trainers in the market and high participation rate due to cross subsidization of participants from partner organizations.
Monitoring and Evaluation to ensure Quality
CHIP has an inbuilt organizational monitoring system which ensures quality, support and meeting of deadlines. A well designed monitoring framework exists to monitor programmes at the community, CSO, CHIP and donor levels through a number of methods. A culture of self evaluation also exists at CHIP and partners level.
Sustainability
CHIP has a concrete strategy for achieving sustainability at community, partner and CHIP levels which makes it unique from other organizations. CHIP has a strong assets base, including its own office building in a commercial area of Islamabad. |
